A statement issued by the Abbotsford Sevens Executive Committee said, “Abbotsford International Sevens humbly began with hosting two international teams from Kenya and the West Indies. Now in our third year, we are excited to say that we can already confirm the participation of eight amazing international teams and know that more are in the process of making the arrangements to come here. Abbotsford Sevens has grown to include the B.C. Summer Sevens Series circuit, and we are grateful to be sanctioned by the B.C. Rugby Union and Rugby Canada.”
Rugby Sevens is an Olympic summer sport and attracts players of the highest calibre. It is a variation of traditional rugby, and involves only seven players, making the game exciting, engaging and unpredictable.
The Abbotsford Sevens is a sport and entertainment festival complemented by exhibitions, live entertainment, renowned DJs, the Russell Club House, an ethnic food fair, a family fun zone, a week of after-parties and so much more.
