Shamrocks smother Rattlers

The Armstrong Shamrocks rocked the Kamloops Rattlers 16-9 Friday night at Nor-Val Sports Centre.

The Armstrong Shamrocks rocked the Kamloops Rattlers 16-9 in Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League play Friday night at Nor-Val Sports Centre. Although the Rocks (4-1) were without leading scorer Pat Nelson, they got scoring from nine different runners.

Brennan Plante and Steve Clark sniped hat tricks for the Rocks; they were Clark’s first goals of the season.

Carston Schlaak, Rob Rintoul and Kyle Versteeg  bagged a pair each for Armstrong, while Kas Boudreau, Thomas Belenger, Jarrett Medhurst and Shaun Koenig added singles.

A.J. Lockwood pulled the hat trick for the Rattlers (1-5), while Nathan Woldum, Dylan Woldum and Lee Black scored twice.

The Shamrocks are holding their inaugural North Okanagan Lacrosse Alumni night during a home game against the Kelowna Raiders June 14.

They are inviting all former players from the Shamrocks and the Vernon Tigers and Royals to attend. There will be a registration table set up at the entrance where alumni and a guest will receive a complimentary pass to the game.

All players will be introduced in between the first and second period.

The Shamrocks want to celebrate a very rich tradition of senior lacrosse in the North Okanagan, one that dates back to the turn of the century.

The Rocks battle the Kelowna Raiders (3-2)Friday night in Armstrong.
