The San Jose Sharks prospects attacked quickly and it paid off. Charles Inglis opened the scoring at 3:13 and the Sharks left the first period with a 2-0 lead that would wind up 6-1 in the opening game of the Vancouver Canucks Young Stars tournament at Penticton’s South Okanagan Events Centre. Former Penticton Vees forward Brodie Reid collected a goal and two points.
