The Stanley Humphries Secondary School junior boys basketball team are hosting their home tournament this weekend at the school. The tournament features four teams: SHSS, JL Crowe, Rossland and Mount Sentinel.
The Bulldogs look to be on their way to the final with wins over Trail’s JL Crowe and South Slocan’s Mount Sentinel.
In their Friday evening game, SHSS used strong defence to come back from a 33-32 deficit in the fourth quarter to get the 40-33 win. Alex Durning led SH with 10 points, while Johnny Johnsen scored 14 for Mt Sentinel.
SHSS plays Rossland this (Saturday) this morning. The final goes at 1 p.m. today.
