In Novice Ringette action this past weekend, Kelowna came out strong versus the Shuswap Icebreakers in the first period, and got the game’s first goal just over three minutes in. The Icebreakers tied it up a minute and a half later, on a goal from Cadence Petitclerc-Crosby. The remainder of the game was a real seesaw battle. Unfortunately for the Icebreakers, Kelowna scored a pair late to get their first two-goal lead of the game. Shuswap was able to claw back within one, but couldn’t complete the comeback and fell to Kelowna by a 7-6 final. Goals for the Icebreakers also came from Jordyn Turner, Ashley Bitz, Hannah Patterson and a pair from Mikaela Curdyk.
