Once again, the Fifth annual British Columbia Competitive Trail Ride-Cariboo Plateau held a silent auction to raise fund for local user groups.
This year’s recipient is the 100 Mile House Youth Zone Healthy Eating Project.
Pat Hayward, spokesperson, ride secretary and auction organizer, says this year’s silent auction raised $823 from donations received from all over the province, including the Okanagan, Kootenays, Vancouver Island, Kamloops, Williams Lake and Alberta.
Local residents and businesses also donated.
Hayward adds she was amazed at how much support she has received for this local “grassroots event.”
Past fundraising recipients have included the OWL (Orphaned Wildlife
Rehabilitation) project in the Fraser Valley, Mill Site Lodge, Fischer Place, 100 Mile District Hospice Palliative Care Society and the 100 Mile House & District Women’s Centre Society.
