The Vernon Silhouettes captured several medals at the B.C. Synchronized Swim Championships last weekend in Victoria.
In the compulsory figure events, Level 3 swimmer Julia Palfreyman won gold, and topped the podium a second time by teaming up with Shelby Kerr to win the Level 3 duet.
Palfreyman and Kerr placed first and second respectively in Level 2/3 technical skills, Charlotte Barker collected silver in Level 3 solo, and Meighan Kerr earned bronze in Level 2 Over 13 solo.
In other Level 3 solo competition, Shelby Kerr placed sixth and Barker was seventh.
In Level 2 swimming, Kassandra Ferguson placed 14th, Meighan Kerr took 15th, Meagan Sloot ranked 18th, Leah Czerwonka recorded 21st, Carmen Peterson was 26th, Kayla Muller was 29th, Cassidy Schwaerzle was 36th, Nelya McDowell placed 37th, and Kaitlyn Buchholz finished 41st.
The Level 2 team, coached by Kayley McNab, placed fifth.
“All our swimmers performed at their absolute best, and you can tell the girls are having fun doing a sport that they love,” said Silhouettes’ Level 3 coach Katie Dick.
The Silhouettes are hosting their annual watershow Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Vernon Recreation Complex. Everyone is invited to come and cheer on the athletes.
