The Ridge Meadows Burrards did their part to help Team B.C. bring home a silver and two bronze medals at the national lacrosse championships recently.
The bantam team dropped a 9-1 decision to Ontario in the finals in Winnipeg and finished the tournament with a 6-2 record.
Team B.C. beat Iroquois twice on the second to last day of the tournament for a chance at gold. They won 7-6 in double overtime to start the day and again 5-3 to advance.
The team featured Burrards’ William Clayton, Connor Evers, Dylan McIntosh, and Daytin Vidovich.
In the pee wee division, Team B.C. beat up on Alberta 8-2 to win the bronze at the nationals in Whitby, Ont. The pee wee squad closed out round robin play with a rare 11-0 shutout win.
The team dropped a 4-1 decision to Iroquois for a chance to advance to the gold medal game.
The team featured Burrards’ Drew Andre, Dylan Ford and Lochlan Munro.
Goaltender Thomas Hankins was the lone Burrads representative for Team B.B.’s midget squad.
The goalie lead the team to a bronze in Whitby after a thrilling 8-7 win over their rivals from Alberta. It was the second win over Alberta in three days as the midgets tripped them up 7-4 in the final game of round robin play.
The midget team lost 10-3 to Iroquois for a chance to advance to the gold medal game.
