Langley U16 tier 1 field lacrosse team comes up one game short of gold-medal quest

The Langley Thunder came up one game short in their quest for the gold medal.

The U16 tier 1 team was competing over the weekend at the Burnaby Lakes Sports Complex, which was hosting the B.C. Lacrosse Association provincial field lacrosse championships.

The Thunder fell 10-4 to the Coquitlam Adanacs in Sunday’s gold-medal game.

Langley had beat Ridge Meadows 11-6 in the semifinals.

The team also beat New Westminster 14-2 and Port Coquitlam 7-4, while tying Pacific Rim 9-9, in the round robin.

The Thunder’s Colin Gormley won a Warrior Fair Play award.

Langley also had a squad in the U14 tier 2 provincial tournament, with the squad going 1-2. The Thunder beat Coquitlam Adanac #3 11-2 after losing to Penticton 7-4 and Mid Island 7-6.

Langley’s Ethan Olhmann won a Warrior Fair Play award while Paul Kozevnikov won the Fair Play coach award.
