Skins action tightens standings

The Nanaimo Curling Centre’s Christensen Collision Cash League is a little closer after skins game action last week.

The top two teams met Thursday, with Garry Smith’s AC Taxi team defeating Kevin Weinreich’s Anderson Civil Engineering rink $105-$30. The result means that Weinreich now leads the cash standings by just $15 over Smith, $565 to $550.

Thursday’s closest skins game was played between Teri Palynchuk’s RBC Dominion Securities team and Mike Keneflick’s V.I. Raiders squad. Palynchuk won the final skin to take a $70-$65 victory.

In other action, Steve Waatainen’s team moved into third place by winning $120 worth of skins against Zorka Smith’s Wingren Floors team. Other winners were Joe Pulak, Bob Chlan’s Mack Truck team, Mark Knutson’s Team Williams and Keith Clarke’s Soap Exchange rink.
