The Nanaimo Buccaneers were slated to play a road game against the Campbell River Storm on Friday, but the game was postponed.

The Nanaimo Buccaneers junior B hockey team experienced some weather woes on the weekend.

The team was slated to play a road game against the Campbell River Storm on Friday, but that game will have to be made up sometime in the new year.

The Bucs did get in their home game Thursday, blowing out the Oceanside Generals 6-1 at the Nanaimo Ice Centre. Dawson Heathcote had two goals and an assist, Cam Nickerson scored a pair against his former team and Patrick Poets and Jayden Schubert also tallied for Nanaimo. John Hawthorne stopped 29 of the 30 shots he faced for the victory.

GAME ON … The Buccaneers will host the Westshore Wolves this Thursday (Dec. 15) at 7:15 p.m. at the NIC.
