Spartans tackle U-S and Germany at Thunderbolt meet

Four Chilliwack Spartans tested themselves against elite 18-and-under talent at the Thunderbolts Invitational Swim Meet in Oregon.

Four Chilliwack Spartans ended 2013 by taking on the world at the Thunderbolts Invitational Swim Meet in Beaverton, OR.

The meet was held Dec. 13-15 and featured some of the best 18-and-under swimmers from Canada, the United States and Germany.

Fifteen-year-old Jessie Gibson placed eighth in the 50 and 200m flies. She was 12th in the 100m freestyle and 16th in the 200m individual medley.

Colton Peterson was eighth in the 100m breaststroke and 15th in the 100m freestyle, 200m breaststroke and 200m IM.

Carson Olafson was 11th in the 100m fly, 12th in the 100m freestyle, 13th in the 100m backstroke, 14th in the 200m backstroke and 16th in the 400m freestyle.

Grayson Bukkos also competed.
