Special Olympics BC, 100 Mile House Rhythmic Gymnastics is up and running again after a months-long break.

Athletes Dianne Bob and Tricia Beauvais, along with coach Pat Oldershaw, are training weekly, although there are no competitions lined up for this season.

Oldershaw says the girls are practising their routines to keep them sharp and keep themselves in shape.

For Bob, rhythmic gymnastics is a big deal because it’s the only sport she engages in.

“I love it. It’s really important to me.”

Beauvais is also on the Special Olympics bowling and golf teams and says she enjoys participating in both sports equally.

Both are former regional and provincial medallists.

Oldershaw has been working with the pair since 2009 and says her gymnasts work hard at their sport, but she makes a point of ensuring that practices are always fun.
