The future looks good for the Spectrum Thunder junior football team as it played to a 20-14 close loss against the visiting Nanaimo District secondary at Spectrum on Thursday (Sept. 17).
The Thunder were up 8-6 going into half time, thanks to a 65-yard-run by Riley Wilson.
Quarterback Chris Starck connected with Bryden Holt on a 40-yard-pass play as the two continued their strong start to the season.
Nanaimo scored late to secure the comeback win.
Spectrum named Grade 10 lineman Hunter Abel as the MVP of the gameĀ for his outstanding play on both sides of the ball, said coach Darren Vaux.
The junior Thunder’s next home game is Wednesday, Sept. 30, 3:15 p.m. vs. John Barsby from Nanaimo.
The senior Thunder host Nanaimo today (Sept. 18) at Spectrum, starting at 2:30 p.m.
