Sport Achievement Awards assist athletes

The Nanaimo Sport Achievement Awards presented five high-calibre athletes with $500 each toward their athletic pursuits.

The Nanaimo Sport Achievement Awards are proud to help local high-performance athletes continue to achieve.

The Nanaimo Sport Achievement Awards committee announced this year’s Athlete Assistance Program funding recipients and officially presented the cheques at a media event at the Beban Park Golf Course on Wednesday.

Runner Erin Burrett, weightlifter Raf Korkowski, judoka Braxton Clark, lawn bowler Hirendra Bhartu and gymnast Adin Brenner each received $500 toward their athletic pursuits.

The program funding is possible through the support of awards sponsors and by proceeds from the annual awards gala at the Coast Bastion Hotel.
