Senior Rainmakers hunt for zones title in Kitimat
Boasting a near-perfect 12-1 record on the year, the Charles Hays Secondary School (CHSS) senior girls volleyball team will be vying for the zone championship title this weekend.
The girls are in the AA zone now, due to having fewer athletes than previous years. That means they will be facing off against different teams in tournament style rather than just Caledonia, who they have played in a best-of-5 series previously.
Zones will be in Kitimat on Saturday.
Peewees look to defend perfect season on the road
The Seawolves’ rep teams will take their skills on the road this weekend. The Peewee Reps will play Fort St. James on Saturday and Fraser Lake on Sunday.
The team has dominated so far this season, with a 4-0 record. They’re especially skilled in the offence category, having outscored opponents 66-3.
The Bantam Rep team will face Smithers on Saturday. The team is 1-2 on the year.
Rapids head to Prince George
Select members of the Prince Rupert Amateur Swim Club Rapids team will take their skills to Prince George from Nov. 18 – 20 for the Prince George Barracuda Northern Medical Sprint Meet. Events will be held at the Prince George Aquatic Centre on Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday. Awards will be handed out at approximately 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Rampage welcome River Kings
The Prince Rupert Rampage senior men’s hockey team will try and take the lead in the season series with the Terrace River Kings when the team welcomes Terrace this Saturday at 7 p.m. at the civic centre.
The Rampage previously beat the River Kings 4-2 on Oct. 8 and lost to Terrace 6-3 on Oct. 15.
Hayden Long and Josh Cook lead the team versus Terrace this year, as each has a goal and an assist against the River Kings.
