PGOSA kicks off winter sports program; Inclusion Parksville seeks golfers for fundraiser; Qualicum golf pro 10th in tourney

Inclusion Parksville is seeking a few good golfers for its Charity Golf Classic and Dinner Saturday at Pheasant Glen Golf Resort in Qualicum Beach.

Inclusion Parksville, formerly the Parksville and District Association for Community Living, relies on the generous support of local individuals and businesses to create inclusive communities and support adults with developmental disabilities in District 69 to actively participate in the community.

Should you, or your friends/colleagues wish to support this cause by attending as a golfer, tickets remain available at $75 per person, or $275 for a team of four players. Registration includes 18 holes of golf at the prestigious Pheasant Glen Golf Resort, dinner and more. All golfers will also be custom fit at registration with a golf glove they’ll get to keep.

Tickets for dinner alone are available for $30; ordering deadline is Friday, Sept. 30.

Memorial Golf Club pro 10th in B.C. championship

Ross Mantell, golf pro at Qualicum Beach Memorial Golf Club, tied for 10th place and earned a $475 payout Tuesday in the PGA of B.C. Club Professional Championship at Quilchena Golf & Country Club in Richmond.

Mantell shot a 75-76 for a two-day total of 5-over par 151.

The championship was claimed in runaway fashion by Dave Zibrik of Point Grey Golf & Country Club, whose rounds of 67 and 70 were the low scores both days. His 9-under total of 137 was five strokes better than runner-up Matthew Palsenbarg of Northview Golf Academy.

Cash payouts were made to the top 22 finishers.
