After blasting the Stampeders 6-3 in game one of the CIHL playoffs, the Houston Luckies had two losses on the road that spelled an end to this year’s run.
Sunday’s final was a close one, with the Stampeders and the Luckies tied 4-4 in the third.
Stampeder Tyson Hall broke that tie midway through the period, adding to the fearsome seven of 16 total points that Hall and twin brothers Joe Morgan and Geoff Morgan racked up in the best of three series.
The final score Sunday was 6-4 Stampeders, cementing a victory that started with their 8-5 win Saturday.
Although the Luckies are done for the official season, a pair of exhibition games against the Burns Lake Braves is in the works. All proceeds from the two games, one in Houston and one in Burns Lake, will go towards the Burns Lake Tragedy Fund.
