The Summerland Steam look to take a 2-1 series lead in their Kootenay International Junior Hockey League playoff matchup with the Kelowna Chiefs.
The Steam got back on even terms Thursday with a 2-1 win at the Summerland Arena. After a scoreless first period, Jarrett Malchow and Braden Eliuk set up Jack Mills at 19:04 of the second. The Steam took a 2-0 lead at 14:49 of the third when Malchow set up Calvin Hadley.
The Chiefs cut into the lead at 2:32 when Luke Kalenuik set up Josh Baird.
Brady Lenardon turned away 17 shots in the loss, while Matthew Kostiw needed to make just 16 saves for the win.
