Steam earns two wins, one loss

Summerland's junior team picks up a couple of wins

On Friday, the Steam hosted the Princeton Possee in a 7-6 overtime win.

Scoring began at 19:49 in the first period when Jeff Penman scored for Summerland, with the assist by Nelson Bowman.

Princeton responded with three goals to take the lead at the end of the period.

Princeton added another goal to open the second period.

At 11:23, Penman scored once again, with assists by Brock McDonald and Bowman.

Gerry Hol then scored for the Steam at 10:27, with assists by Kendell Wilson and Jordan McCallum.

At 2:14, Doug Chadwick scored on a power play, with assists by McCallum and Dylan Burton.

In the third period, Princeton added a goal at 15:01.

Summerland responded at 11:57 when Dylan Burton scored, assisted by Steve Semenoff and Ryan MacMurchy.

Hol then scored at 10:03, assisted by McCallum.

A Princeton power play goal brought the game to a tie.

In overtime, Hol scored on a power play at 3:35, assisted by McCallum and Chadwick.

On Saturday, the Steam lost a 4-3 game against the Chiefs in Kelowna.

The first period was scoreless.

In the second period, the Chiefs scored at 19:11. Summerland responded at 7:26, when Semenoff scored with the assist by MacMurchy.

Kelowna regained the lead with a goal at 3:34.

In the third period, Brock MacDonald scored at 13:54, assisted by Wilson. The Chiefs scored twice more to seal the lead. A power play goal by the Steam at 4:31, when Chadwick scored with assists by McCallum and Semenoff, was not enough to bring a win to the Steam.

On Sunday, the Steam hosted the Grand Forks Border Bruins, playing to a 4-2 win.

The Steam scored at 11:41, when Josh Spence scored, with assists by McCallum and Hol.

In the second period, the Border Bruins scored at 15:44.

The Steam responded at 13:02 when Hol scored with assists by McCallum and Chadwick.

A Grand Forks goal brought the period to a tie.

The third period belonged to Summerland. At 13:02, Spence scored with the assists by Josh DaCosta and McCallum and DaCosta.
