The Summerland Steam had to play into overtime to finish the year, ending with a win and a loss last week.
On Dec. 29, the team traveled to Kelowna to face the Chiefs in a 3-2 overtime loss.
The steam began with a goal at 14:02 by Dylan Burton, with assists by Taylor Jordan and Jordan McCallum.
The Chiefs responded to tie the period.
In the second period, McCallum scored at 5:53 with an assist by Burton.
The Chiefs brought the game to a tie in the third period.
An overtime goal by the Chiefs ended the game.
On Dec. 30, the Steam faced the Penticton Lakers at home, playing to a 4-3 overtime win.
The first period was defined by power play goals.
Steve Semenoff scored for the Steam at 9:12, with the assist by Burton.
Penticton then scored on a power play.
At 0:25, Josh DaCosta scored for the steam on a power play, with assists by Burton and Semenoff.
The second period was scoreless.
In the third period, the lakers scored twice before Semenoff scored for the Steam on a power play with 11:05 remaining.
DaCosta and Colin Minardi had the assists.
The overtime goal, by Gerry Hol, with assists by McCallum and Minardi, also came on a power play.
The Steam have a record of 10 wins, 24 losses and two overtime losses.
