Tim Smith and John Campbell captured the Canadian Open Stick Curling Championships in Maple Ridge on Mar. 22-25.
Competing against 24 teams from across Canada the Armstrong pair won their first game before dropping into the “C” event with a loss to Manitoba.
Finally putting it together they won three in a row to quality for the final 8 Championship round.
After an 8 – 3 win in the quarter’s the duo next played a Salmon Arm team in the semi’s, down 5 -3 with two ends to play they picked up a deuce to tie the game then stole one coming home for the win putting them in the National finals.
In the final against another BC team from Maple Ridge Smith and Campbell led from the start to take a hard fought 4 -2 win.
