Thunder and lightning put an early stop to North Okanagan Men’s Soccer League action Wednesday night at Marshall Field.
Before the light show, Turn-Key Controls ambushed the shorthanded Salmon Arm Outlaws 9-0 at Marshall #2.
With a change to earlier kickoff times, the Outlaws could only field eight players come the opening whistle.
Moving the ball around quickly, Turn-Key scored early and often. Strikers Cam Egan, Jeremy Kler and Chris Harris each scored twice, while midfielder Jordan Bell got the gorilla off his back by pocketing his first goal in several matches.

Meanwhile, the annual North Okanagan United (NOU) Co-Ed Tournament goes this weekend with 22 teams in six divisions at Marshall Field.
Play opens Saturday at 9 a.m. with the last games scheduled for 6 p.m. There are round-robin games Sunday at 8:45 and 10:15 a.m. with the playoffs set for 12:30 and 2 p.m.
Proceeds from the tourney go towards NOU’s trip to Italy for the 2013 World Masters Games.
