Summerland golfers participate in Zone 2 Challenge

Proceeds from event assist Ladies and Junior Girls' Championship Team

On Tuesday, June 15, the Summerland Golf and Country Ladies Club participated in the Zone 2 Challenge.

The purpose is to challenge other clubs to see who has the lowest net score during Ladies Day. Proceeds from the event assist with Zone 2 Ladies and Junior Girls’ Championship Team travel costs and Junior Girls’ clinics.

First flight: Low gross Carol Mulligan, 91; low net Dee Dobson, 75.

Second flight: Low gross Janis Goll, 102; low net Marie Gallant, 76.

Summerland Senior Men

The Summerland Senior Men’s Club event on June 18 was a team play, using a reverse waltz format counting 3-2-1 net scores per hole.

Results: The winning team with 88 points Bob Fortune, Eric Johnson, Stan Brock and Rick Drewnisz. Second place with 85 points went to Barry Wicker, Bill Webster, Art Flett and Dave Cain. Third, with 84 points was the team of Greg Flook, Bryce Parker, Wayne Cybak and Ted Gamracy. Fourth place with 83 points went to Glen Brennan, Harvey Mitchler, Dave Hellard and David Carleton.

Seven players shared the deuce pot with Rick Drewnisz scoring a pair.
