The Summerland Steam lost two hockey games on the road over the weekend.
On Friday, the Junior B hockey team faced the Revelstoke Grizzlies, playing to a 6-3 loss.
The Grizzlies dominated the first period with three unanswered goals.
In the second period, Ty Banser of the Steam scored at 16:02, assisted by Josh Bourchier.
The Grizzlies responded with another goal at 5:12.
In the third period, Liam McLaren of the Steam added a goal at 19:42, assisted by Morey Babakaiff and Matthew Byrne.
The Grizzlies then added a pair of goals to reinforce their lead.
The final goal came at 9:48 when Austin O’Neil of the Steam scored, with the assist by Liam McLaren.
On Saturday, the Steam faced the Eagles in Sicamous, again playing to a 6-3 loss.
Sicamous notched three unanswered goals in the first period.
After a fourth Sicamous goal early in the second period, Babakaiff responded with a goal for Summerland at 16:13. McLaren had the assist.
At 3:40, Banser added a goal for the Steam, assisted by Ethan McLaughlin.
After two more Sicamous goals in the third period, Byrne scored for the Steam at 2:22, assisted by McLaren.
At present, the Steam are in third place in the Okanagan/Shuswap Conference: Bill Ohlhausen Division of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League.
The Junior B team has 16 wins, 17 losses and four overtime losses.
This weekend, the Steam will host the Osoyoos Coyotes on Friday, Jan. 17. The game begins at 7:30 p.m.
The following evening, the Steam will face the Kelowna Chiefs at the Rutland Arena. The game begins at 7 p.m.
