In three overtime hockey games on the weekend, the Summerland Steam lost twice and won once.
Osoyoos 5 — Summerland 4
On Friday, the Steam hosted the Osoyoos Coyotes, losing 5-4.
Summerland took the lead with a power play goal at 14:01 in the first period.
The goal was scored by Ben Dietrich-Scammel, with assists by Josh Pilon and Steven Flust.
The lead was reinforced at 3:17 when Wyatt Gale scored, assisted by Braden Eliuk and Jarrett Malchow.
In the second period, the Steam added a power play goal at 12:06, scored by Gale and assisted by Cole Williams and Eliuk.
Osoyoos responded at 11:06 with a goal by Carter Shannon, assisted by Carter Robinson and Kyle Rosolowski.
At 8:53, Pilon scored for the Steam, assisted by Andrew York.
The Coyotes then added a power play goal at 4:27, scored by Daniel Stone, with assists by Judd Repole and Shannon.
In the third period, two power play goals by the Coyotes brought the game to a tie.
The first came at 18:17, when Austin Cleaver scored, assisted by Brayden Durante and Jackson Glimpel.
Then, at 13:23, Shannon scored, with assists by Stone and Repole.
The game went into overtime, with the deciding goal at 2:22 in the second overtime period, when Shannon scored for the Coyotes, assisted by Colin Bell and Stone.
Princeton 2 — Summerland 1
On Saturday, the Steam traveled to Princeton to face the Posse.
The game ended in a 2-1 overtime loss.
Princeton opened scoring at 16:18 with a power play goal by Drew Carter, assisted by Tristyn Olson and Chad Kimmle.
The second period was scoreless.
Summerland scored a power play goal late in the third period to tie the game.
The goal came at 3:37 when Riley Pettitt scored, assisted by Jarrett Malchow and Cole Williams.
In overtime, Owen Reith of the Posse scored at 2:27, assisted by Kirt Fortney andCody Lassiter.
Summerland 3 — Kamloops 2
On Sunday, the Steam defeated the Storm in Kamloops in a 3-2 overtime win.
Summerland took the lead at 6:23 when Malchow scored on a power play, assisted by Scott Robinson and Dietrich-Scammel.
Kamloops responded at 5:27 with a goal by Hayden Dick, assisted by Evan Walls and Nate Pelletier.
The second period was scoreless.
In the third period, the Steam regained the lead at 12:31 with a power play goal by Pilon, assisted by Flust.
Kole Comin of the Storm brought the game to a tie at 5:34 with an unassisted goal.
In overtime, Flust scored an unassisted goal at 3:11 to secure the win.
The next action for the Steam is on Friday, when Summerland hosts the Sicamous Eagles. The game begins at 7:30 p.m.
