Sunlife Slammers won a pair of games, running their record to 4-0 and taking over first place in Tier 1 of the Comox Valley Mixed Slo-Pitch League.
The Slammers last week edged Courtenay Kia 17-15 and nipped Balls Deep 12-11. LeeAnn Alberti made some outstanding plays in the outfield as Banner Landscaping Brewers, also sponsored by Water Pure & Simple, beat the Beachwood Café Ducks 10-8.
The Mariners won their first game of the season 19-9 over Balls Deep.
Tier 2
The Nissan Titans ran their record to 3-0 with a 15-7 win against Berard’s Plumbing. The Wild kept pace with the Titans, edging Applebee Average Joe’s 5-4 and trouncing the Angels 16-4.
The Angels outlasted the Peanut Gallery 20-19. Mission Possible Shockers took down the Wrecks 11-8. Jay Huntley hit a grand slam and Cheryl Rousseau went 4-4 as Applebee Average Joe’s outscored Berard’s 25-20.
Tier 3
VIIC Vikings got by the Dirty Birds 6-5 to remain the only undefeated team in Tier 3 play. The Oyster River Rats split a pair of games knocking off the Elks Zombies 13-2 but fell 11-6 to the Dirty Birds. The Wankees stopped the Brew Jays 16-10 and The Steamers were 11-7 winners against Applesauced.
Tier 4
Billy D’s Dodgers smoked the Coco Loco’s 20-7 and beat Merit Home Furniture Cruisers 15-10 running their record to a perfect 3-0. Calm Batters trounced the Loco’s 20-8 as they also remain unbeaten. Cruisers got by G&G Instigators 11-9. Komox Grind remained winless as they were beaten 16-14 by the C.V. Marine Misfits and lost 9-8 to RPM Electric Blue Thunder.
Tier 5
The Major Ballers were on the wrong side on both ends of a doubleheader losing 18-14 to EZ Ryders and were beaten 17-4 by the Contenders. Malfunctions edged the T-Birds 14-13 and the Slippery Kittens were 19-15 winners against the Swingers.
