Members of the Surrey Lawn Bowling Club launched their 2018 season at Clayton Park last Saturday, April 28.

The clubhouse and field have been much transformed in recent years, with the help of municipal, provincial and federal levels of government.

In 2014, the club renovated the clubhouse kitchen and installed shelters along the turf field with $40,000 in provincial and federal grants. The artificial turf installation, funded by the City of Surrey, was the latest improvement in 2017.

Those interested in joining the Surrey Lawn Bowling Club can visit their website for information on league play or drop in play.

If you’d like to try out lawn bowling, there will be an open house for the Surrey Lawn Bowling Club on June 2 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for national bowls day.
