Surrey’s Hargrove to race at Toronto Indy

Driver to compete in a pair of Porsche Ultra GT3 Cup races

Scott Hargrove will be looking for another two wins as a driver for OpenRoad Racing this weekend.

Hargrove will be racing in the Porsche Ultra GT3 Cup Challenge, one of the events taking place during the Honda Indy Toronto, June 12-14. The Porsche Ultra GT3 class will race both Saturday and Sunday.

The Surrey driver won one of the two races in Toronto last year, placing second in the other. He claimed the Platinum Cup as series champion in his first season with OpenRoad Racing, winning six of 10 races while finishing as the runner-up four times.

“Last year was an incredible season with Scott as our driver,” said Christian Chia, President and CEO of OpenRoad Auto Group. “Another win in 2015 would not only solidify our reputation as one of the best GT3 teams in Canada, it would also be an absolute dream come true for OpenRoad racing.”

“I’m very excited to once again hit the race track with OpenRoad,” said Hargrove, who was not in  the field for the first two races of the series May 15-17 in Bowmanville, Ontario. “I loved every second of racing Porsches last year, especially winning in the tight streets of Toronto in tricky weather conditions.”
