The Surrey Knights lost 7-2 to Aldergrove Kodiaks on Thursday night (Feb. 9), ending a long, painful season in which the Junior B hockey team failed to win a single game.
The shots were 64 to 18 in favour of the visitors at North Surrey rec centre.
Kevin Kutasi scored in the first period for the Knights, and Benjamin Meng added another in the third, when the score was 5-1 for the division-leading Kodiaks. CLICK HERE for game stats.
This season, their first in Surrey after the team moved from Langley, the Knights went “donut” for 44 games in PJHL action. The team lost 41 games and earned three overtime-loss points.
Playoffs? Not even close.
In a final tally, the Knights managed to score 66 goals this season and allowed a whopping 293.
“It’s just a bad situation there in Surrey,” league president Ray Stonehouse told the Now earlier this week.
“The league is not happy with the situation, and it will be addressed in the offseason, that’s all I can tell you at this time.”
