SWIMMING: Cloverdale Tritons send strong squad to provincials this weekend in Victoria

Nine swimmers and two relay teams will compete this weekend in about 20 different race events

SURREY — The Cloverdale Tritons are sending a strong group of young swimmers to provincials.

The swim club is sending nine swimmers and two relay teams to compete this weekend in about 20 different race events.

The 57th annual BCSSA provincial championships are being held in Victoria from Aug. 21 to 23. The event attracts about 1,500 athletes each year.

This year, the local speed swimmers competing under the Tritons swim cap include Sawyer Miley and Faith Khan (who both smashed longstanding club records in the 50m Breaststroke), Megan Shinger (who received the BCSSA Swimming Scholarship for the Fraser South region), Sidney Kim, Mady Stickley, Morganne Woolley, Wyatt Schnare, Alex Waldern and Aiden Smith.

The Cloverdale club also has two relay teams consisting of four swimmers each, including coaches Jordan Woolley and Carmen Keller.
