Nick Taylor got off to a tremendous start to the Web.com Tour playoffs, posting a top-10 finish at the Hotel Fitness Championship in Fort Wayne, Ind.

The 26-year-old Abbotsford golfer fired a scorching six-under 66 in Sunday’s final round, which sent him soaring 17 spots on the leaderboard to tie for ninth place at 12 under par for the tourney.

Taylor earned $27,000 for his finish, and put himself in solid position with three playoff events still to come. Twenty-five PGA Tour cards have already been handed out based on the Web.com Tour regular-season results – with one of those cards going to Abbotsford’s Adam Hadwin – and 25 more are up for grabs based on earnings during the playoffs.

Hadwin, who finished fourth on the Web.com Tour money list during the regular season, missed the Hotel Fitness cut by four strokes after carding rounds of 75 and 72. He’ll be on the PGA Tour next season regardless of playoff results, but he’s battling to improve his priority ranking.
