The Canadian senior women’s national basketball team is playing an exhibition game against Team China at the University of the Fraser Valley on Friday, May 18.
The game tips off at UFV’s Envision Athletic Centre at 7 p.m., and is the finale of a three-game set between Canada and China in the Fraser Valley. The two teams are also scheduled to play at the Langley Events Centre on May 16, and at the Richmond Oval on May 17. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for ages 6-18, and children five and under are free.
The games are important for Allison McNeill’s Canadian squad as it gears up for the FIBA World Olympics Qualifying Tournament. That event runs June 25-July 1 in Turkey, and the Canadians will be seeking one of the final five berths to the London Summer Games.
Canada is currently ranked No. 11 in the world, while China is No. 7 and has already qualified for London.
