The two top teams in the North Okanagan Women’s Soccer Association competitive league took to the pitch on Tuesday, July 19 – TED United versus Dr Lee Dental.
It was a great match-up, with even skill and team efforts.
TED opened the scoring from Kim Turner’s great ball just over the keeper’s fingers early in the first 45.
Off to a solid start, TED looked to increase their lead, but Dr Lee managed to tie the game with an unlucky ball outside of the 18-yard box, eventually taking the lead 2-1 by the end of the first half.
TED dominated the majority of play in the second half.
After multiple chances from both sides, the scored remained 2-1 until TED’s Paige Greenhough, from the wing, sent a beautiful cross into the back of the net tying the game 2-2.
The battle continued as Dr. Lee made every effort to the regain the lead. TED persevered and played their possession game, which led to a great through ball from Tricia Martin to Kyla Sherman, bringing TED back into the lead.
It was a well-fought game with a great performance from both teams.
Final score 3-2 for TED United.
