Terrace Youth Soccer Association kicked off their season Saturday, May 5, at Christie Park.
The association has 700 kids registered this year, similar to other years, and this year has seen a spike in the number of under-5 and under-8 players.
“Most everything is pretty steady from last year,” said TYSA director Blaine Kluss, “with noticeable increases in the U5 and U8 divisions.”
Kluss says there was 46 kids in U5 last year, 74 this year, and in the U8 division, numbers jumped from 62 last year to 87 this year.
Skies were clear and the weather clear for the league kickoff last weekend, which was packed with soccer games, as well as free hot dogs for the kids.
