B.C. Rodeo Association has finally wrapped up another very successful year with the Finals

The B.C. Rodeo Association has finally wrapped up another very successful year with the Finals hosted by the Quesnel Rodeo Club at Alex Fraser Park. Despite the rain on Saturday allĀ  101 contestants were competing hard for the sudden death win for a Championship Buckle for 2015.

The 2015 Championship winners and average winners are;

Bareback Friday, Saturday and Sunday Cash Kerner of Savona was the top Bareback winner of the Buckle and Season Leader saddle for 2015. Cash Kerner won a whopping $2,018.75 for the 3 rounds and the average. Christoph Muigg of Hazelton won $1,425 for the 3 rounds and average and Steve Hohmann of Quesnel won $712.50.

The top Saddle Bronc winner of the Championship buckle is Cliff Schuk of Tatla Lake winning $1,031.25 with round and average and with Kaila Mussell of Chilliwack winning second for $937.50 and Christoph Muigg of Hazelton winning 3rd place with $843.75 for a round and average. Kalla Mussell is the Saddle Bronc Season Leader for the Saddle.

In the Bull Riding Ty Hamill is the Season Leader to win the Saddle. The Championship Finals Buckle goes to Lane Cork, Quesnel who had 150 points in the Average at the end of the day, Lane won $562.50 for the first round with a score of 80 and in the second round had a score of 82 to win $687.50 and winning the third round with a score of 77 to win $1250.00. Matt O’Fiynn of Quesnel won the first Round with a score of 83 to win $687.50 and was second in the average for $375.00. Ty Hamill of Kamloops was second in the 2nd Go round with a score of 72 to place for $562.50 and third in the average for $250.00.

In the Tie Down Roping Steve Pozzobon of Cawston, B.C. proved to be the fast hands winning the first round with a 9.8 score and 2″‘ round with a 10.5 score and sharing a 2 and 3 spot in the third go round with Willee Twan, Alkali Lake with a score of 11.1. At the end of the day Steve won the Gold Buckle with 145 points. The Season Leader saddle winner for the year is Steve Lloyd of Quesnel .

The Steer Wrestling proved to be difficult with the weather not very good on Saturday. Wade McNolty of 150 Mile House, BC took it all with 160 points in the Average to win the Champion ship buckle. He won first round with a score of 4.9, won the second round with a 6.4 and the third round with a 6.6 to win overall. Wade McNolty is the Season Leader for Steer wrestling winning the saddle. Luke Simonin of Naramata, BC was second in average with 85 points. He won $1,041.66. Mike Gill, Merritt, BC won third in the average with 50 points to win $666.66.

The top Breakaway Roper for 2015 is Rika Wieth of Cache Creek being a consistent roper for all year she is the BCRA Season Leader saddle winner and the Finals Championship buckle winner. She won it all with 160 points for the Average. Rika placed first in the First Go Round with a score of 3.0, first in the second go with score of 3.1 and placed third in the Third Go Round with score of 6.0. She goes home with $1,875. Charlie Soffel of Vanderhoof was second in the Average with 80 points and wins $1,000 and third in the Average is Denise Swampy of Williams Lake with 50 points to win $625.00.

The Ladies Barrel racing prove to be very competitive as they vied for the Championship Buckle. Joleen Seitz of Savona, BC is the Season Leader Saddle winner going into the Finals. She won the First Round with a time of 16.058 placed second in the 2nd Go with a time of 16.364 following Claire Myers of Lone Butte, BC who placed first in the 2nd Go with a fast time of 15.957. The third go changed drastically with a very fast run by Rayellllnicki of Williams Lake with a time of 16.197 and second fast time from Coleen Duggan of Cache Creek with a 16.220. The average was won by Claire Myers and Joleen Seitz both having a tied average score of 100 points causing a Run Off for Average winner. Claire Myers was just a little faster to win the Championship Buckle.

The Tearn Roping Season Leader Saddle winners are Ryan MacNaughton, header of Quesnel and Dustin Shields, Heeler of Vanderhoof. The Championship Finals header and heeler of the team roping are Russell Glassford, Quesnel and Steve Lloyd, Quesnel. They had three head roped to win the average with 140 points. They also go home with $1875 each. Ryan MacNaughton of Quesnel and Dustin Shields of Vanderhoof were second in the Average with 3 head roped for 60 points and $750 each. Third in the Average were Cash lsnardy of Cache Creek and Jonah Antoine Cache Creek third in the Average to win $1,000 each.

The Junior Steer rider Season Leader saddle winner is Blaine Manuel of 150 Mile House, B.C. The Junior Steer Riding BCRA Finals Champion Buckle winner is Elijah Gordon of Quesnel, B.C. He placed fourth in the First Go with score of 69; a third place in the Second Go with a score of 70; tied in the Third Go with Lane Paley of Quesnel with scores of 69.5 ea and Elijah went on to win the Average with 120 points.

The Junior Barrel Racing Season Leader Saddle winner is Taylor Cherry of Quesnel, BC and the Jr. Barrel Racing Finals Champion winning the Championship Buckle is Tosha Seitz of Savona, B.C. with winning the Average with 130 points. Tosha placed second in the First Go with a time of 16.359 just under the first place winner Taylor Cherry, Quesnel who had a time of 16.256. Tosha then placed third in the Second Go with a 16.676 and placed first in the Third Go with a 16.550. Sofeya Smith, Cache Creek placed second in the Average with 100 points. She won $687.50. Emma Langevin of Quesnel placed second in the Third Go to win $187.50

The youngest racers” the Pee Wee Barrel Racers are the prettiest. Riley Beier of Vanderhoof, B.C. is the BCRA Season Leader Saddle winner for 2015. The BCRA Finals Champion is Taylan James of Cache Creek, B.C. who won the Average Buckle and money with 160 points. She had a first place win in the First Go with a time of 16.179; a first place win in the Second Go with 16.422; a first place win the Third Go with 16.575. Kali Atkings, Fort St. John, B.C. was a close second in the Average with 120 points and Riley Beier from Vanderhoof a third place in the Average with 60 points.

The Junior Breakaway roping Season Leader Saddle winner is Dyson Leneve of Quesnel and he also dominated the Junior Breakaway roping in the BCRA Finals Championship rounds to run away with the Buckle and money in the Average with a 160 points. Dyson was first in the First Go with a score of 4.8 with Sydney Schuk oflatla Lake, B.C. second with a time of 9.1. Dyson placed first in the Second Go with a time of 5.0 with Brock Everett, 150 Mile House placing second with a time of 9.8. Dyson placed first in the Third go with a time of 3.7 with Taylor Cherry of Quesnel, second with a 6.0 and Brianna Billy of Williams Lake third With time of 6.2. Taylor Cherry placed second in the Average with 60 points.
