The Comox Valley Sharks are back in the water after a short break over the holidays.
It was a challenging fall for the club as it adapted to new procedures and protocols to maintain a safe and healthy environment for swimmers and staff.
Although not able to compete in traditional competitions over the fall, swimmers competed in small socially distanced events held at their home facility. They were able to race for best times and take part in an in-house event to earn points. Congratulations to Fall Points Race winners Laine Perry, Nathan Johnson, Liam Wigger, Yuna Park, Zakiah Schneider and Anabelle Pellerin.
The club also received some welcome support this fall with a grant from the Canadian Tire Jumpstart program. The club purchased a mask for each swimmer and staff member. Extra equipment and a storage cabinet was also purchased to help limit equipment sharing between swimmers.
The club extends a big thanks to Canadian Tire for their support towards youth sport.
