Salmon Arm came together in a big way on April 12 for the nation-wide Jersey Day, where communities were encouraged to wear sports jerseys to show their support for those affected by the Humboldt Broncos bus crash.
More than 100 people gathered at the Shaw Centre in jerseys to be part of a group photo which will be framed and sent to the Humboldt Broncos.
Wade Stewart organized Salmon Arm’s Jersey Day event after an initial Facebook post gained traction in the community. Stewart also printed and sold decals of the Broncos’ logo, and will be selling prints of the group photo for $10, with all proceeds being sent to Humboldt.
The town of Sicamous also organized a Jersey Day event in support of the Humboldt Broncos, gathering at the Sicamous Arena for a group photo and to sign their names on a banner for the people of Humboldt.
