There’s snow in them thar hills

Skiing and snowshoeing conditions perfect on 99 Mile trails

The weather has warmed up and there is fresh snow on the ground at the 99

Mile cross-country ski and snowshoe trails.

The groomers have been out, says 100 Mile Nordic Ski Society spokesperson Barb Matfin.

“So, if you haven’t been skiing yet, now is the time.

“The lodge attendants have soup and goodies every day, so you don’t have to pack a lunch.”

The Lodge is open every day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., except on Christmas Day.

Matfin says the trails are open any time now that the night skiing lights switch is now on.

All people have to do is hit the big, red button, and the lights will come on for 90 minutes, she explains.

“Keep in mind the lights do go out for the rest of the night at 10 p.m.”

There is a link on the society’s website (www.100milenordics.com/) that will direct folks to the Facebook page for those who aren’t proficient navigating Facebook, Matfin explains.

“It’s what we’ve been waiting for, so come on up and enjoy winter!”
