Three championship belts will be on the line when the Pure Wrestling Association holds a Jan. 30 fundraising card in Courtenay.
In the main event, Krofton will be defending his British Columbia Championship against Ethan HD. Riea Von Slasher vows to leave the ring with her Vancouver Island Pro Wrestling Women’s Championship title after defeating Violet, while Lak Siddartha is daring Barry Goode to wrest his Pure Violence Championship title away from him.
The card, which was confirmed Jan. 5, also features a #1 Contenders Match for the B.C. Championship with former Vancouver Island Champions BJ Laredo and Cremator Von Slasher giving it all they’ve got.
A High Flyers bout will pit Matt XStatic against Scott Steel, while another scheduled match features “Masked Marvel” Super V-Los taking on “Thrillbilly” E.O. Mike Becherer.
Longtime wrestling fans will be in for a treat as Kaos, formerly of Courtenay now in Campbell River, is scheduled to make a guest appearance at some point during the evening.
The Courtenay show is a fundraiser for Comox Valley Special Olympics, with the PWA donating partial ticket sales ($1 youth, $2 general, $3 front row) as well as 50 per cent of proceeds to CVSO.
Admission is $20 front row (limited), $15 general admission, $10 youth, with kids five and under free with a paid adult (two kids per adult). K’omoks Band Hall doors open at 7 p.m. with bell time 7:30 p.m.
