A four-goal first period gave the Langley Thunder a lead they would not relinquish as they won their first game of the Western Lacrosse Association season.
The Thunder led 4-1 after one period and 7-2 after 40 minutes en route to a 9-6 win over the Coquitlam Adanacs at the Coquitlam Sports Centre on Saturday night.
The win evens Langley’s record at 1-1.
Lewis Ratcliff (two goals, one assist), Anthony Malcom (two goals) and Athan Iannucci (two goals) led the offence with multi-goal games while Alex Turner (one goal, two assists), Adam Will and Patrick Saunders had a goal apiece.
Brodie MacDonald made 37 saves for the win.
The Thunder are back in action with two games this week.
They visit the Burnaby Lakers on June 2 at the Bill Copeland Arena before hosting Coquitlam on June 3 at the Langley Events Centre.
