For the eighth time in nine games, the Langley Thunder were held to single digits in goals. Not surprisingly, the senior A lacrosse team sports a dismal record of 1-8.
The Thunder lost 11-7 to the Nanaimo Timbermen on June 22 at the Langley Events Centre and then fell 7-5 to the Coquitlam Adanacs on June 25 at the Coquitlam Sports Centre.
Langley’s lone victory came when they scored a season-high 11 goals nearly three weeks ago.
Against Nanaimo, the team fell behind 4-0 in the first eight minutes and wasn’t able to recover.
Cole Shafer led the offence with three goals and an assist while Jordan Dance had two goals and a helper and James Rahe had a goal and three assists.
Coquitlam built up a 7-2 lead early in the third period and the Thunder came back to pull within two goals, but could not get any closer.
Dustin Doudelet led the team with two goals and an assist while Mitch McMichael had a pair of assists for the second straight game.
The Thunder visit the Burnaby Lakers on June 28 before hosting New Westminster the next night (June 29) at the LEC.
After the Burnaby game, the Thunder play seven of their final eight games at home after a road-heavy first half of the schedule.
