The junior B Nanaimo Timbermen had a perfect start to the season with back-to-back wins.

Nanaimo is 2-0 after a one-sided 13-6 victory Sunday against the Langley Thunder in B.C. Junior B Tier 1 Lacrosse League action at the Langley Events Centre.

The Thunder’s early 3-2 lead was short-lived as the Timbermen scored twice in a span of eight seconds and ended up taking a 5-3 lead to the locker room. That would be as close as Langley would get with the Timbermen outscoring the Thunder 6-1 in the middle stanza and leading 13-4 early in the third before Langley scored the game’s final two goals.

Nanaimo’s Wade Mason had three goals while Riley Arsenault had a pair of goals.

The day before, Nanaimo edged the New Westminster Salmonbellies 8-7 in overtime. Arsenault scored twice and Parker Davie had the OT winner. Colby Bowman was the winning goal and the T-men had 74 shots on goal.

Nanaimo is one of 10 teams in the B.C. Junior B Tier 1 Lacrosse League. The Nanaimo Timbermen B2 team will compete against Island opponents in the Pacific North West Junior Lacrosse League.
