Playing catch-up from the opening minute of the game proved too much for the Kelowna Rockets.

Chad Butcher set the tone with a goal 56 seconds into the first period Saturday, as the Medicine Hat Tigers downed the Rockets 6-2 in WHL action at Prospera Place.

Medicine Hat scored three times in the opening period and closed with three more in the third, handing Kelowna its second loss in the last three games.

Kole Lind and Kyle Topping tallied for the Rockets, now 10-9-0 on the season.

The Tigers, who led 3-2 heading into the third, put the game away with two goals in a 28-second span at 12:23 and 12:51.

Michael Herringer stopped 34 shots for the Rockets who were outshot 40-25.

The Rockets return to action next Saturday, Nov. 12 at home to the Prince Albert Raiders.
