Titans set for title shot

Second seed Langley Fundamental faces No. 1 North Delta in Fraser Valley championship game

The Langley Fundamental Titans are one step away from a Fraser Valley championship banner.

The senior boys soccer team has advanced to the senior boys AA soccer championship game on Nov. 9 at Coquitlam Town Centre.

The Titans, seeded No. 2 after winning the Langley Zone with a perfect 8-0-0 record, will face the top-seed North Delta Huskies.

Langley Fundamental, which went during the regular season, won by identical 3-1 scores over the No. 7 Thomas Haney Thunder in the quarter-finals on Oct. 31 and the No. 3 Archbishop Carney Stars.

The Titans have outscored the competition a combined 68-6 over 10 league and playoff games.

The Aldergrove Totems had also made the Valley championships, but the sixth-seed lost 2-1 to the Stars in the opening round and then 4-3 to the Thunder to get knocked out of contention for a berth to the provincial championships.
