Ashcroft Curling Club off to Dominion Provincials An Ashcroft team is heading to the BC Curling Provincials of the Dominion Club Challenge. Dwight Hodder, Paul Quesnel, Chris Brezina and Gary Farr won the Okanagan zone held in Enderby, advancing them to the Pacific International Cup. The Ashcroft rink defeated teams from Merritt and MacArthur Island to advance to the semi finals. Ashcroft played Penticton, last year's champions, who they defeated 7-4 in the semi finals. In the final round Ashcroft was victorious over a team from Kelowna. Hosting eight BC teams from around the province, the Pacific International Cup is held in Richmond, April 20-24. Joining the teams from BC are teams from the Yukon, NWT, and the United States. Invitations are sent to teams from Japan, Korea, China, Australia and New Zealand to compete at the event. The top BC team after the five day event then advances to nationals, the Dominion Canadian Club Challenge.
