As the newly formed Lac la Hache Tomahawks senior “AA” hockey team readies itself for its upcoming debut with the Central Interior Hockey League, club support people are already fully in the game.
Eva Navrot, Tomahawks secretary/treasurer, says that ice is scheduled to go in at the Rolf Zeis Memorial Arena home rink in Lac la Hache on Sept. 15 and team tryouts will commence shortly afterwards. Currently, the club is putting out a call for players in anticipation of their first game, which is scheduled for Oct. 1 in Lac la Hache.
The regular season will see a total of 18 games played on Saturdays and Sundays, with the last one scheduled for Jan. 14.
Game tickets will be priced at $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and children, but the club also has plans to sell season tickets at $80 each for its nine home games.
“Season tickets are really great because it gives ticket holders a set seat for each game and they give us a bit of revenue to work with. We’re going to be paying for refs, road trips and ice, so this will help,” says Navrot.
The club also has several sponsorship options available including jersey sponsorship, where a $200 fee will get your name on the shirt for its lifetime.
Game sponsorships are $150 per game and program sponsorships will buy space in each of the home game programs for the full season, costing $100 for a full page, $50 for a half page and $25 for a quarter page.
Individual donations of any amount will also be recognized with the sponsor’s name printed in each program.
Navrot says that donations of fuel cards, bottled water and venues for fundraisers will also be much appreciated, as will a commitment from volunteers.
The club also has Tomahawk team T-shirts for sale for a cost of $20 each. Navrot says that she will be happy to deliver both shirts and sponsorship packages to anyone who is interested.
