Vernon’s Mackenzie Barrie finished in 18th spot at the B.C. Women’s Amateur Golf Championship at The Dunes in Kamloops.
Barrie fired rounds of 75-77-76-75 to finish at 11-over 303. Taylor Kim of Surrey won the tournament, fishing at -2.
Vernon Golf Club member Matthew Kreutz edged clubmate Matt McEachran-Law by one shot over 72 holes at the B.C. Junior Boy’s Golf Championships at Meadow Gardens in Pitt Meadows.
Kreutz had rounds of 74-75-85-77 to finish at 311, while McEachran-Law ended up at 312 after rounds of 77-76-81-78. Two Vernon golfers missed the cut. Russell Day of the Vernon Golf Club had back-to-back rounds of 8-over 80, while Spallumcheen’s Michael Lenoury had rounds of 82 and 81.
n The Vernon Golf Club duo of Shannon Glenesk and Bradlee Jones finished in a four-way tie for 13th place at the G&G Golf Company/Callaway PGA of B.C. Pro-Assistant’s championship at Black Mountain in Kelowna.
Glenesk and Jones had rounds of 68 and 63 for a two-day total of 131, seven shots behind the winners from the host club, Russ Latimer and Tyrel Griffith.
