Topsport FC edged Kal Tire FC 4-3 in Vernon Men’s Indoor Soccer League play Wednesday night at the VantageOne Soccer Centre.
The game started off with some fast-paced possession by Topsport, but they couldn’t convert.
On a counter attack, Kal Tire pulled ahead after an open man at the top of the box buried a shot.
Topsport (9-1) answered with two goals in quick succession by Kenzel Aarts Roman and star striker Lendrit Ademi.
The second half kicked off with end-to-end action from both sides. Kal Tire pressed for the 2-2 equalizer, but they couldn’t find a way past centre back Menno Burnet, who seemed to be winning every aerial ball that came his way.
At the other end, Topsport’s David Weir tapped in a rebound to make it 3-1. Just like the last time these two teams met, the last 10 minutes were the most thrilling. The Tiremen (6-4) fired back with a goal making it 3-2 and then equalized.
Just like last time the two teams met, Topsport got the winner in the dying minutes through midfielder Fabrice Fanfani for their ninth straight win.
Midfielder Mika De Vin showed great intelligence as he controlled the midfield for Topsport
