The Alberni Armada defeated Mark McGinnis 32-31 Tuesday.
Unfortunately for Alberni, McGinnis had plenty of help from his Vanier Towhee teammates – including 23 points from Dillon Robson – as the Towhees torpedoed the Armada 79-32.
With the win, Vanier improved to 3-0 and solidified their hold on first place in the Vancouver Island North AAA senior boys basketball league. Alberni dropped to 0-2.
This weekend the Towhees head south for the Cedar/Ladysmith tournament. Their next league game is Feb. 9 in Nanaimo against the Dover Bay Dolphins.
Next home game is Feb. 14 against Frances Kelsey. The North Island tournament goes Feb. 23-24 at Dover Bay.
